THE COMMUNITY
Brookville High School is located in a suburban community west of Lynchburg, Virginia.
THE SCHOOL
BHS is the largest of four high schools in Campbell County. The school has an enrollment of approximately 1000 students in grades 9-12 and 80 staff members. Approximately eighty-two percent (82%) of graduates indicate their intention to attend post secondary educational institutions. Forty-three percent (43%) plan to attend 4-year colleges and thirty-nine percent (39%) plan to attend 2-year colleges. The school is accredited by The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
THE CURRICULUM
BHS offers a varied curriculum to meet the needs of the student body. There are vocational and technical programs offered at the high school with additional programs offered at the Technical Center. In addition to the standard college preparatory program, students may apply to attend the Central Virginia Governor's School for Science and Technology. Advance Placement courses are offered in World History, American History, Comparative Government and Politics, English Literature and Composition, Calculus-AB, Psychology, Spanish Language and Statistics.
