BHS Students Serve the Community

posted Sep 26, 2016, 8:47 AM by Amy Abell

Twenty-three BHS students spent Saturday morning serving our community.  These students are the 2016 Miss Brookville contestants and their escorts. The focus of the Miss Brookville program is strength in academics, character, leadership, and service to school and community!  These students spent the day packing 35 lunches and delivering them  to a Habitat for Humanity crew and volunteered at Lynchburg Grows, a seven-acre urban farm that donates fresh fruits and veggies to those in need.

Additionally, a group of  25 Key Club members spent two hours volunteering at the Lynchburg Humane Society on Sunday. They delivered homemade toys that they had made, played with and helped socialize the animals, and cleaned.
