I graduated from William Campbell in 2008. I went to Lynchburg College and in 2012 earned a B.A. in Communication Studies.  I worked as a Photojournalist at WDBJ7 and I am currently a television Producer at Roanoke Valley Television- RVTV3.  My position at RVTV3 has me shooting, editing, and writing TV Shows and content for the three municipalities that we serve- Roanoke City, Roanoke County, and the Town of Vinton( Spotlight on City Schools- which is a monthly show highlighting several timely topics in Roanoke City Public Schools each month, and  Roanoke County Business Partners- which is a monthly show showcasing various businesses in Roanoke County hosted by the Department of Economic Development). I am also working towards a Master of Fine Arts degree at Hollins University in Screenwriting and Film Studies. I hope to use this to one day to pitch a television show or feature film to a network or production company. I also plan on writing and producing short films to be presented at various film festivals.
Campbell County schools helped me by allowing me to use my passion for film for school  projects.  I was encouraged by several of my teachers at William Campbell to use my creative talent to create videos instead of traditional paper assignments. The project that most stands out in my mind is a short film I made in a group for AP US History class. With a non-existent budget and limited equipment, my group told the story of the assassination of President Lincoln. Since then, I've learned a ton about creative storytelling and was able to find a career fresh out of college that allowed me
to do that.
