Mask Policy Updated

On November 13, 2020, Governor Northam amended Executive Order 67 and Executive order 63. These actions increased restrictions on private and government activities in response to increased Covid-19 transmission rates throughout the Commonwealth. Executive Order 63 requires that all individuals age 5 and older wear a cloth face covering, as described and recommended by the CDC, inside buildings. This will require that our students and staff always remain masked while inside their school.

There are several exemptions to mask use:

· While eating or drinking.

· Individuals exercising or using exercise equipment.

· Any person who is playing a musical instrument, when wearing a mask or face covering would inhibit the playing of the instrument (e.g., wind instrument), if at least 10 feet of physical distancing can be maintained from other persons, whether the rehearsal or performance is indoors or outdoors.

· Any person who has trouble breathing or is unconscious, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to remove the face covering without assistance.

· Any person seeking to communicate with the hearing impaired and for which the mouth needs to be visible.

· When temporary removal of the face-covering is required to receive educational services.

· Persons with health conditions or disabilities that prohibit wearing a face covering. Adaptations and alternatives for individuals with health conditions or disabilities will be considered whenever possible.

· Staggered short term mask breaks are allowed.

Campbell County Public Schools will teach and encourage students to implement this order and continue to promote hygiene and physical distancing daily to decrease the spread of Covid-19.
