message to senior class below

Dear High School Seniors and Families,

Campbell County Public Schools (CCPS) has received guidance from the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) regarding graduation requirements for the class of 2020.  Current seniors, who were on track to graduate on March 13, 2020, will graduate at the end of this school year.  Students who were not on track as of March 13, 2020, may still complete work during this closure with the goal of becoming eligible for graduation.  Each high school is prepared to assist students who may need to make up additional work in order to graduate and will be contacting those students directly.  All Standards of Learning (SOL) testing has been suspended because of the school closure, and waivers will be granted for seniors needing an SOL test to graduate.

Graduation will not be withheld from seniors if they were on track for graduation when school ended on March 13.  At the present time, no decision has been made regarding graduation ceremonies.  We recognize this has been a difficult time for students and families across the division and understand the disappointment the senior class must feel.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Robert Johnson

Superintendent

Campbell County Schools
