Orientation Day August

Orientation Day for PreK, K, 6th and 9th-grade students only.

August 13, 2018

Dear Parent/Student,

Welcome to the 2018-19 school year!  We know that your time with us will be a great educational experience that provides your child with a solid foundation of the necessary skills to be successful in school and beyond. Starting the year in a new school can be both an exciting and anxious time for students and parents. Campbell County Schools has many great things in store for your child during the school year including orientation on August 13th during the following times:

8:15 – 11:15 – Brookneal and Altavista Elementary

8:50 – 11:50 – All Elementary Schools except Brookneal and Altavista Elementary

8:05 – 11:05 – Middle/High Schools

This orientation session will include an introduction of administration, counselors, teachers, and other key personnel that will help students learn about school expectations, culture, and procedures. Some of the information reviewed with your students will include:

·       Daily schedules

·       Exploring the building

·       Academic expectations

·       Lunch procedures

·       Busses and transportation

·       Finding and opening lockers-Middle/High

·       Extracurricular after school events-Middle/High

While this orientation session is not mandatory, we encourage all students PreK, K, 6th grade and 9th grade to attend. To support this important experience, we will be providing transportation for students. If you have not already, please access this information on bus stop pick-up times on the Campbell County Schools Website.  We remind parents that this day is for students only but please join us on our “Back to School Day” on August 9th!

On behalf of the entire Campbell County Schools staff, we welcome you to the new year. We are looking forward to meeting all of our students and we thank you for your continued support.
