Science Teachers Still Learning!

, Biology Teacher at ACS, was selected to participate in The Virginia Aerospace Science and Technology Scholars (VASTS) program Teacher Institute at NASA Langley Research Center and Virginia Space Grant Consortium in February.    She participated in problem solving missions developed around a Mars Exploration theme. Cindy was assigned to the "Strategic Planning Team"  and presented her team's plan to a small panel of NASA Engineers and Scientists.

Larry Collins, Earth Science Teacher at ACS, wrote an article "Teaching Ecology through a Models-Based Approach" published in the Journal of Environmental Education.   

Darryl Smith, Life Science Teacher at ACS, was recognized as Teacher of the Year from the Altavista Chamber of Commerce.
