Dear Campbell County School Community,

As a division, student safety always is and always will be a priority. In light of recent tragedies, I would like to update you on security measures currently in place in our schools. Below is a brief summary:

·       School Resource Officers are positioned in school buildings.

·       All buildings and school buses are under video surveillance.

·       In all buildings, visitors must report to the main entrance to gain entry by secure access control.

·       Upon entry, visitors are required to report to the main office to validate their purpose.

·       All visitors are screened with LobbyGuard, which accesses a national law enforcement database.

·       Faculty are trained on active shooter situations.

·       Students and faculty practice lock down procedures throughout the year.

We understand these measures may present occasional inconvenience; however, we consider them important to protect the safety of children and staff. We will continue to provide accurate, timely, and appropriate information regarding any issue involving the safety of students.

Safety Reminders:

·       Immediately forward any information that you receive constituting a threat to appropriate school and law enforcement personnel.

·       Please know that we will handle all concerns of school safety with deliberate actions.

·       Please review responsible social media habits with your child.

We must continue to work together to provide a safe and secure learning environment for all of our children. We thank you for your continued support.
