PreK Application Requirements


Campbell County Public Schools usually holds Pre- Kindergarten screening on the third Wednesday in April, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the school of attendance.

In order to be eligible to attend Pre-Kindergarten, the following requirements must be met:

      1.  An official birth certificate must be submitted verifying that the child will be four years

       of age on or before September 30 of the enrollment year.

2.   A physical examination report, signed by an authorized medical professional, must be submitted prior to school           entry. Including a full Immunization report. 

     3. A certificate, signed by an authorized medical professional, must be submitted verifying adequate immunization for         the following:

    • DTP Vaccine – at least four (4) doses
    • Polio Vaccine – four (4) doses
    • Measles Vaccine – two (2) doses
    • Rubella Vaccine - one (1) dose
    • Mumps Vaccine – two (2) doses
    • Varicella (chickenpox) Vaccine – two (2) doses
    • Pneumococcal Vaccine – two (2) to four (4) doses (dependent on age at first dose. This vaccine is required ONLY for children  less than two years of age.
    • Haemophilus Influenzae Type b (Hib) Vaccine – This vaccine is required ONLY for children up to sixty (60) months of age.
    • Hepatitis B Vaccine – a complete series of three (3) doses of Hepatitis B vaccine is required for all children.

We urge that parents with children eligible for Pre Kindergarten to contact the school in your attendance zone prior to the third week of April to schedule a screening time.  Any questions may be directed to the local school principal or to Campbell County Schools.
