The Tomahawk Elementary Physical Education Program consists of at least 45 minutes of Physical Education a week. In addition to promoting physical, mental, and social growth, the curriculum also encourages attitudes concerning cooperation, responsibility, leadership, self confidence, and sportsmanship.
All physical education activities are progressive in nature and are introduced according to the age and development of the students. A variety of activities are taught to increase the interest of each student as well. Students are encouraged to participate in physical activities outside the school setting.
Physical Education instruction focuses on the premise that pupils develop differently and at different times. Keeping this in mind, students are given frequent individualized instruction during group activities and games.
