Word Study
Strategies
On this page you will find information about reading strategies. In addition we have provided some information about word study. Each teacher's reading class is different. If you have any questions about what your child is learning specifically, please contact his/her reading teacher.
In place of the traditional spelling program, this year we will have Word Study. Each week your child will have specific features they will study. On Friday they will be assessed to determine their understanding of that feature. We were asked not to give any homework in spelling. Consequently their spelling grade will only be their Friday assessments. If you would like to know which feature your child is studying we can share that with you.
